The topic of finances is enormous and can be overwhelming and emotional to many. My goal in this area is to help breakthrough some of those emotional triggers and assist others in achieving a feeling of more control over their finances. In this section of coaching we will focus on your relationship with money, basic financial literacy, personal responsibility and finances, life purpose and finances an self worth and finances.
Although people place varying importance on their finances and money, it is an inescapable factor of our society, so all individuals should be competent on at least a basic level so they can take responsibility for themselves. Taking responsibility for yourself financially gives you freedom to make your own decisions in life, removed unnecessary burdens upon others, creates healthy boundaries within relationships and gives you the power to create the life you dream of.
I am not a financial guru and do not claim to be, I also do not give financial advice. What you will receive from working with me is guidance on healing and improving your relationship with money which can lead to more alignment, purpose, fulfillment and abundance in your life.

Our relationship with money
Where do we begin with this one? Especially in at time like 2020 when the whole financial system seems inflated and it appears we are on the verge on a financial collapse. Also, I must admit I don’t have this all figured out, but I’m happy to share some views and approaches that have benefitted me greatly. I still have work to do in order to reach my goals, but I am much closer to them than I used to be. I’ll begin by stating that we have been programmed to calculate our internal value with external factors. This affected me greatly but I reached a point where that approach just wasn’t adding up. I had identified some goals and when I set out to reach them with that mentality, it wasn’t working and my lessons kept leading me inward, towards becoming a more valuable human in order to manifest more external resources. My healing and transformation in this area has resulted from changing my perspective and relationship with money. Some ways to describe this would be that money is an energy. Money makes us more of what we already are. Money is a tool. People who don’t have a lot of financial literacy tend to look at money in an emotional way and take money matters personally. People with more financial prowess use it as a tool and don’t get as connected to it. This is consistent with the other areas of health, doing our best to be in the seat of the observer in our experience so that we can make better decisions when we aren’t tied up in the reaction or the emotion of it.
Basic financial literacy. My philosophy is each person should have a thorough grasp on basic financial terms that affect our everyday lives. For example, many people fill out a W-4 tax form and receive a W-2 during tax season. There are basics that people should be aware like how much they pay in taxes. The truth can be sobering and motivate us to make changes. One example of how this knowledge affected me was it helped me make the decision to be self employed. Being self employed allows me to invest in my business, which I’m very passionate about and brings me a lot of satisfaction by doing so. Many of these investments can be counted as business expenses and I can subtract them from my annual tax bill. Many people who are employed have a limit on how much they can earn and may be interested in starting a side hustle. In order to have a side hustle, a person needs to be aware of which expenses are tax deductible, which form to use (schedule C) in addition to their 1040 tax return.
Since 2006 I have founded 3 LLCs and a sole proprietorship. I also was raised by an entrepreneur and salesperson mother so I have been fortunate enough to have a great role model in this area. Some individuals don’t have role models in this area and must learn from elsewhere. Either way, if we seek the knowledge we will find resources.
Other people may not have a side hustle, but could benefit from being able to calculate figures with interest rates, dividends, monthly budgets, investments. A person’s financial journey is extremely personal, but what I am seeing is a lot of people are completely out of touch and have vague financial ambitions and few skills to actually accomplish their dreams. Let’s work together to find out where you feel your literacy is lacking and find some areas where increasing your literacy will serve you in reaching the next stage of your goals.
Personal responsibility and finances
Taking responsibility for what you believe is your life purpose requires just as much acceptance of responsibility over finances because these two elements work hand in hand with one another! You will require money and resources to accomplish your work, and if the universal principles are supporting you in your life’s purpose or mission, there will be a relationship between your progress and the financial situation. There are lessons within this realm which I believe are a part of our journey towards sharing our gifts. We need to be present in this aspect to experience the learning that comes with working towards fulfillment in this manner.
